My spa day, too

2 hour Thai Heritage Massage... a treat!
Paying extra for a private room so the kids are safe... even better.
Hooking them up to the iPads: 2 hours of bliss!

Travelling with Buddha's blessing

This was painted on the ceiling of our cab from Don Muang Airport to our hotel. It was indeed one of our most relaxed rides!

Last day: the spa crawl

Arrived at Rambuttri Village Inn

after a very long day travelling. Kids were great but are now wiped out:

Unbelievable

Back at Sawasdee Restaurant at Surat Thani Airport, just like last year. Both kids remember the restaurant, and Jonas even remembers the exact table we sat at last year! Sometimes the kids really impress me!

Last day on Koh Phangan

Enjoying Salad Beach at Cookies Resort. So sad to be leaving! Luckily, thanks to my husbands motorbike skills, we now own part of a bike. WTF???

Enjoying Haad Yao beach

Another panoramic sunset - two actually!

Check this out, two sunsets! And at the same time we could watch a thunderstorm over the neighboring island Ko Samui. And I'm nearly certain they just send the longtail boats back and forth across the bay every evening so that tourists get better sunset pictures!
All this having dinner at Ko Raham, or "Der Zauberbaum" as the kids call it!

Sounds of Thailand

Soundtrack of our nights

A few frogs have settled under one of the bridges across our little garden stream and they sure make one hell of a racket! I asked the waiter Mr Yao what the noise was and he says "Frogs!" ... adding thoughtfully: "not the kind you can eat though!".
I'd kinda figured... we wouldn't have the din every night if you could eat them, they'd be fried with chilli a long time ago!

Dinner at Mama Pooh's Kitchen

Great food, but we were attacked by flies and fled mid-dinner!

The kids after I literally slathered them in Skeetol. Still having fun as flies weren't yet dropping in our food, and the TV was on.
This is the boss. The grandfather I think. He's in charge of cash, although his grandson can do sums faster than he can, now!
and the kitchen is hidden behind here. Not sure who was Mama Pooh but the whole establishment seems to be a family run busoness. And the food is seriously yummy!

More fun at the fair

Beats Starbucks

Soy Latte at Bovy's Ocean View. Soooo good!

Best Dinner Deal

At the walking street market.... Chicken satay 20 baht and Pizza 80 baht for the kids. Larb mu tohd (fried spicy pork salad) 40 baht and Chiang mai spicy sausage 20 baht for me. Plus drinks 50 baht and all are happy as can be for the equivalent of 5.25 Eur! What a great dinner! And seriously, whoever misses out on larb mu tohd in Thailand has never pampered their taste buds! Yummy yummy yummy!

Minigolf and Frühlingsfest a la Ko Phangan

It was a bit hot but the kids loved it. We'll be back!
Then we went to Thongsala Fairground. The Ferriswheel was scarily rickety! And I loved the cooling system on the car ride. Just hang a cooling fan over it when the engine starts overheating!

Taking your piggies to market

We thought this was interesting on today's round of the island. The pigs seemed remarkably relaxed. Jonas' theory is they believe they're going on holiday....

Does this mean we are now fully acclimatised?

Just saw a 2 inch cockroach climb up the wall. Continued drinking my beer and just wondered which of the two geckos I could see would catch the cockroach. Four weeks ago I'd have run off screaming!

The sunset just gets better every evening

Two haircuts 300 baht (7.50 €)

Ready to go back to school!
